In the wake of a contentious 2016, Bishops Francis X. DiLorenzo and Michael F. Burbidge and their public policy agency, the Virginia Catholic Conference, are inviting government officials and people of all parties and faiths to come together to pray for the needs of the Commonwealth at the second annual Virginia Vespers: Evening Prayer for the Commonwealth.  The hour-long service, which draws on an ancient Christian liturgy, will be held at the beautiful, historic Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Richmond at 5 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017.  A wine and appetizers reception follows.
