About Our Ministry

For over 20 years, Saint Bridget Church has partnered with Cathedral of the Sacred Heart to serve in a twinning relationship with St Paul’s Parish in the village of Carissade, Haiti. 

Through our combined efforts, we continue to provide elementary education for 400 children, a clinic with access to urgent medical care and medications, emergency food support to our village community, and micro-loan access to allow local villagers to expand their small business and farming practices. 

None of us are strangers to the difficulties that the country of Haiti has experienced. We appreciate the support Saint Bridget’s has committed to this ministry and your continued support today. Despite the political unrest and rising violence, our efforts in Carissade continue. We are in regular communication with Fr Pierre, and our monthly contributions and financial efforts are still reaching our village and serving the community as intended.

Our students, school and clinic have benefited significantly from that support.

Even with all of the internal strife, there is HOPE.

There are now pockets of Haitian communities that are working around the difficulties they face and with the help of the Catholic Church, they are finding ways to do the what was once thought impossible. Computers and tablets are replacing books, seed programs are helping reforestation and livestock programs are providing families income and benefitting whole communities creating HOPE for a better future.

We continue appreciate your financial support as we begin this new process. However, we are actively looking for volunteers here at Saint Bridget who would like to CHAMPION this new direction with our partners at Cathedral.

We are searching for parishioners with experience in project management, education, special events and more.
