The next Ministry Matters

Do you believe that God calls ministers to serve during the Sunday Eucharist?  Do you think God may be asking this of you?  Have you served here in the past but have taken a break of at least a year and now feel ready to return?  Your parish needs you to help at our weekend Masses.     Diaper Drive - October 17 & 18 In recognition of the Feast of St. Gerard, Patron Saint of Expectant Mothers, the Saint Bridget’s Respect Life Committee is holding a DIAPER DRIVE on October 17th & 18th.  We will be collecting diapers and wipes after all Masses.  Needed: Size “newborn” and size “one” are preferred.  All items will benefit the East End Pregnancy Test and Help Center as well as the Pregnancy Center of Metro Richmond.

September 19-27th Richmond will host the UCI Road World Championships Saint Bridget: Three Chopt Road interruption - Sunday, September 27th Three Chopt Road will be closed in our area on Sunday, September 27th from 8:45 am until 9:15 am for the UCI World Championship Bike Race. The race will start at the University of Richmond and go south on Three Chopt Road. Dear Parishioners, I know you will want​ to join me in welcoming Monsignor Thomas G. Miller back to St. Bridget Parish.  Monsignor Miller will be celebrating some Daily Masses and Sunday Masses with us.   Monsignor Miller was Pastor of St. Bridget from 1995 to 2002.  He and I served here as assistants to founding pastor Monsignor Francis J. Byrne in the early ‘70’s.  Monsignor Miller was pastor of St. Mary, Blacksburg, Rector of Sacred Heart Cathedral and most recently Pastor of St. Andrew, Roanoke. Father Stefan has been appointed pastor of Saint Therese in Farmville effective August 1. We are all very grateful to Father Stefan for his wonderful priestly ministry among us and wish him well in his new assignment. On Saturday, July 18th, we will have a Reception for Tom following the 5:30 Mass.  Please join us to celebrate his journey to priesthood and to thank him for all of his years of Ministry at Saint Bridget Parish. Tom Lawrence has been a life-long parishioner of Saint Bridget Church. He attended Saint Bridget School and Benedictine High School.
