September 19-27th Richmond will host the UCI Road World Championships
Saint Bridget: Three Chopt Road interruption - Sunday, September 27th
Three Chopt Road will be closed in our area on Sunday, September 27th from 8:45 am until 9:15 am for the UCI World Championship Bike Race. The race will start at the University of Richmond and go south on Three Chopt Road. Masses will be celebrated as usual but during that time you will not be able to use Three Chopt Road.
Cathedral of the Sacred Heart: Cathedral Welcomes the World
The Cathedral of the Sacred Heart is helping to organically grow the fan participation in Monroe Park area by providing a variety of activities both inside and outside of the Cathedral through the week of September 19th through the 27th.
The Cathedral will be open from 6am through midnight through this week. There will be musical performances, self-guided tours of the historic Cathedral along with an International Food Festival taking place on Saturday September 26th. Visitors will receive a free commemorative original print created by local artist Greig Leach; parishioner and nationally renowned official artist for Richmond2015. The Cathedral is also teaming up with the VCU Office of Multicultural Student Affairs and other community outreach groups to build and provide care packages for the homeless on Monday September 21st.
The Cathedral of the Sacred Heart is perfectly located adjacent to Monroe Park, providing a fantastic view of the race-course, VCU and the Cathedral. You can spend time with family/friends watch the race, and interact with world! A portion of funds raised will go to support other non-profit organizations.
