Join Bishop DiLorenzo and experts in Norfolk to talk about “Laudato Si’,  Pope Francis’ encyclical on ecology, and how it applies to environmental issues facing the Tidewater.  “Praised Be: How Pope Francis’ Encyclical Speaks to Tidewater’s Looming Environmental Crisis - A Symposium of Church, Military, Scientific and Community Leaders” will take place Tuesday, August 25, at 7 p.m. Sacred Heart Parish, 520 Graydon Avenue, Norfolk.  Refreshments will be served at 6:30 p.m. Panelists include a Church theologian, U.S. Navy Rear Adm. David Titley (ret.), and Emily Steinhilber, Assistant Director of Coastal Resilience Research at Old Dominion University. Register at vacatholic.org. The event is co-sponsored by the Virginia Catholic Conference, the Diocese of Richmond’s Office of Social Ministry and Catholic Climate Covenant, a close partner of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.
