Changing Mass Schedules is never easy.
We appreciate that schedule changes will introduce challenges along with benefits and we appreciate your patience as we go through this time of transition. Saint Bridget Clergy and Parish Council worked together to listen to the needs of the community through many conversations with parishioners and obtaining feedback through our parish survey.
Masking at Masses
An overwhelmingly clear desire was expressed by the community to provide Masses where the Bishop's mask-wearing policy was more widely followed and our survey indicated that it was a leading reason why parishioners were staying away from regular Mass attendance.
In light of this:
Masks will be distributed by ushers and are expected to be worn at the Saturday 5:30 p.m. Mass and the 9:00 a.m. Mass. All school Masses and University of Richmond Masses have an existing mask requirement in effect.
Per Diocesan directives (read them here), during times of elevated or high transmission of COVID-19 (as indicated by the Virginia Department of Health, VDH, view here) masks should be worn in indoor public settings regardless of vaccination status.
When will this end?
When transmission rates go down below the VDH's elevated or high status, the directive from the Diocese will go out of effect.
