Pastor's Office
Wednesday, January 13th 2021
My dear Parishioners,
I pray that our celebration of the Lord’s Nativity touched you with the promise that God is always with us. Christmas is such a time of light as we live in a darkened world.
These quiet holy days have given me time to discern the mind of Christ for me. Thus, after 52 years of service and at 79 years of age it is time for me to step aside as your pastor. I will retire from active ministry this summer.
I do not know who will be assigned as your pastor. These decisions are made by the bishop and his advisors. Our role in this is most important: pray that the Lord’s will be done in all ways and in all things.
What happens now? In the next 6 months I will continue to pastor as I have all these years: celebrating the sacraments and working with Councils and Committees who share in leading the parish. And so it’s on to Ash Wednesday, Lent and the Sacred Triduum.
I will continue living in the area and will always hold dear the people God has entrusted to my care.
Sincerely in Christ,
