Advent is the time when the world prepares to celebrate anew the coming of Christ. Often, we lose sight of the point of this season because we get caught up in our preparations for Christmas and arrive at Christmas no more transformed or ready for the coming of Christ than we were at the start of Advent.
As a parish this year, we are hoping to prepare our hearts in a deep and profound way as we draw closer to the birth of our Savior. We hope to experience true transformation in this powerful season by engaging with a new program from Ascension. This program is Rejoice! Advent Meditations with the Holy Family. This year, we will walk with Mary and Joseph as they prepare to welcome their son, the Savior of the World.
We have the opportunity to walk together, following the Holy Family on their journey to Bethlehem. This program will begin with an Advent Mission Night on Sunday, November 22nd at 7pm on ZOOM, and will continue throughout the season of Advent with individual daily journal reflections and weekly virtual video discussions. Each participant and/or family can obtain the daily reflection journal and sign up for one of our weekly discussion groups HERE.
Rejoice! is an opportunity for our whole community to enter into the season of Advent intentionally and receive the grace God is waiting to give us in this holy season. Join us for our Advent Mission Night and take full advantage of this transformative experience!
