Dear Parishioners,
I am very pleased to inform you that we have received approval from Bishop Knestout to proceed with the Outdoor project of our Master Plan.
This project includes the building of a large terrace and bell tower in the front of our church and commons and other improvements to beautify our church for the glory of God.
The project is scheduled to begin just after Easter in the first week of April. The project will take from six to seven months to complete, and be finished in the September – October timeframe. We will pray for the blessing of good weather to speed our schedule.
I am also pleased to tell you that His Excellency, Bishop Knestout will bless the worksite on Saturday, May 19th at 5:00 pm, and will then celebrate Mass at Saint Bridget. Please plan to attend and stay for a reception following Mass.
During the building period, we will need to enter and exit the church sanctuary using the side and rear parking lot entrances to the Commons. All entrances at the front of the church will be inaccessible during the full construction period. We will also displace some parking from the front of the church during this period. As such, please plan to arrive for Mass and other events sufficiently early to allow time to park and enter the church by these alternate entrances.
I also ask you to be considerate of those that are less mobile and leave available for them both the handicapped parking spaces and the close-by street parking spaces. This will be very helpful for those that need to park as close as possible.
It is encouraging to know that the project will be over in a relatively short period and I ask for your patience and support during the construction period.
Finally, we invite all parishioners to provide financial support for the project. We need to raise an additional $236,000 to complete our fundraising. I hope that all parishioners will choose to be involved by making a donation to the project. There are specific project items that need support, and general contributions to the project are welcome. Please contact me directly to discuss any of these items. Information is provided in the Parish Commons at the display table for the project.
I am very thankful for the generosity of all parishioners that have provided support to enable this project to move forward. I pray for you and ask for your prayers as we embark on this exciting investment in the future of our parish!
In Christ Jesus’ Name,
Monsignor Carr
Pastor
