The Jennifer Stivers Campaign to Save the Lives of the Most Vulnerable
The Saint Bridget Knights of Columbus Council is raising funds to provide new ultrasound machines to the Pregnancy Resource Center of Metro Richmond (PRC), the leading provider of medical services to pregnant women who are considering terminating their pregnancies. The use of an ultrasound machine is one of the greatest tools in saving the lives of the unborn as a mother is provided with the incredible view of her living, thriving baby. This initiative is dedicated to the memory of Jennifer Stivers who so recently left us. She loved life, and she loved the unborn. Success in our initiative will honor Jennifer in an incredibly meaningful way.
Our goal is to raise $30,000 to replace these machines. Our funds will be matched by the National Council of the Knights of Columbus dollar-for-dollar to achieve the full $60,000 cost of these machines. Once purchased, they will be in use for at least eight years, serving thousands of young women and saving hundreds if not thousands of their children.
The Knights urgently request your financial support for this initiative. We are confident that with the broad and generous support of the Saint Bridget Parish community that we will be successful in our goal. And, should we be so fortunate through your generosity, we will attempt to procure an additional machine for another pregnancy center.
Recently, the second collection on May 18th and 19th was taken up for the ultrasound initiative. Our parish was very generous and over $14,000 in donations was received during the collection by checks mailed after the weekend, and by donations using ConnectNow. Thank you very, very much!
If you would like to donate to the Ultrasound Initiative, please stop by the table in the Commons where there is more information about the PRC and envelopes and forms by which to contribute.
We thank Monsignor Carr for his blessing and his strong endorsement of this effort and we are grateful for your prayers, for your commitment to life, and for your generosity.
