You are formally invited to volunteer with our Liberation Veteran Services Ministry!
Liberation Veteran Services is a non-profit organization located near the heart of RVA! They provide shelter, resources, and loving care to our homeless veteran neighbors. Through their Freedom House operation, LVS shelters around 30 homeless veterans and provides them with practical and educational resources, giving them a well-rounded approach to finding self- sustainability.
Our Ministry & Who Can Help
Our ministry here at Saint Bridget helps them achieve this mission in the smallest way! On the second Thursday of each month, our team of volunteers assists with preparing, supplying, or delivering a 3-course meal to the shelter. The environment at LVS is terrific! Volunteers who have had the opportunity to form a fellowship with these men highly recommend even having dinner with them. Children aged 11+ are welcome with the supervision of mom or dad!
Living the Faith
As we kick off the new year, imagine spending part of it giving back to those in need. Options for the Poor & Vulnerable is a core doctrine of Catholic Social Teaching, and we hope to carry this out through acts of faith, love, and service. We hope to encourage a culture of love and concern for all those who need it. If you are interested in learning more about becoming involved with this ministry, please reach out to Jeannie Grumblatt at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We are excited to hear from you and learn about the ways you wish to lend your time or talents!
As we navigate a post-pandemic world, we are cognizant of providing our volunteers with a safe and sanitary environment. We ask that if any symptoms arise, please stay home and stop the risk of spreading any further infection! Again, please reach out to Jeannie if you have any questions!
