Refugees come to the United States with great need, having left their homes, possessions, and often even their families in search of safety and a new start. They arrive with hopes for a brighter future.
CCC helps these individuals achieve stability and equips them with the skills and guidance they need to begin their new lives in the United States. From obtaining drivers' licenses to medical care and school enrollment, there are ways for you to get involved with offering assistance.
For 40 years, our program has partnered with communities to help refugees integrate into a new country with dignity. An affiliate of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and one of only nine resettlement agencies with a cooperative agreement with the Department of State, CCC resettles refugees in Greater Richmond, Roanoke, and Newport News. Resettlement includes initial housing placement, case management, school enrollment and follow-up, health and language support, and education and employment services.
The refugees whom we assist are fully vetted by the Department of State in coordination with the U.S. security agencies and have undergone rigorous background checks.
