Parish Girl and Boy Choirs

Perhaps your child has expressed an interest in choir, or you feel it would be a great way for he or she to learn and grow. However you became interested, the Girl and Boy Choirs are an opportunity to become ministers in Saint Bridget parish. 
 

Membership Requirements

• Families make time for ALL rehearsals and ALL scheduled liturgies and public performances.
• Each child comes prepared to grow and learn. 

There is no audition for either choir, and no minimum skill set or experience is required to join. However, each child is expected to grow in knowledge and understanding of music.
 

The Girl and Boy Choirs Are…

• A ministry to children in the parish, preparing them to be ministers to the parish
• Not an “after school activity"
• For children of all levels of ability and skill  
• A place where each child is expected to participate and engage fully in rehearsals.
• A place for children to have a unique opportunity to learn self-discipline, commitment, and poise
• A place where children will learn and grow as musicians within a spiritual context
   

Parish Girl Choir

• A choir for girls who are in 2^nd Grade or higher
• New girls are given a six (6) week trial period during which they and the director will determine if they are interested in, and able to fully engage in the choral program. 
• After the six week trial period, a child is expected to complete the nine (9) month season.
• The Girls rehearse most Thursdays of the school year, from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. (beginning September 12th).
• The Girl Choir typically sings at Mass once a month.
   

Parish Boy Choir

• A choir for boys who are in 2^nd Grade or higher
• New boys are given a six (6) week trial period during which they and the director will determine if they are interested in, and able to fully engage in the choral program. 
• After the six week trial period, a child is expected to complete the nine (9) month season.
• The Boys rehearse most Tuesdays (this is a change from last year) of the school year, from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. (beginning September 10th).
• The Boy Choir will typically sing at Mass once a month.
