On Saturday, June 27th, we had a great food drive for the Sacred Heart Center, and it was a huge success. In addition to an impressive amount of donations of food, toiletries, and household cleaning items, our parishioners donated almost $1,500 in checks and gift cards. Your generosity is truly inspiring!
The donations and gift cards were delivered to the Sacred Heart Center on Saturday afternoon. We were greeted by Claudia Guerrero, Director of Programs. They were a joy to work with and were very, very appreciative of the generosity of Saint Bridget parish! Sacred Heart Center continues to provide services to families and their community during the Covid19 pandemic and they were extremely grateful for our critical support in these uncertain times.
Saint Bridget is blessed with volunteers that welcome the opportunity to serve our community and with parishioners who are always willing to help those in need.
- Thanks to everyone who came out to donate - your good work, your time and your energy helped make the Food Drive for the Sacred Heart Center be such a success! It was a great turnout and it was so good to see so many of you come by with food and other donations.
- A huge thank you goes to John McCulla, Greg Stivers, Michael Barry, Gene Kastleberg, Rick Witty, Joe O’Hare, Doug Lynch, Steve Oswald, Mike Kozak, Ron Paquette, and all the Knights of Columbus for coordinating, receiving and delivering the donations!
- A special thank you to Greg Stivers for use of your horse trailer. It sure made it so easy and it can really hold a large load! Thank you for the use of it and your expert towing!
- Thank you Paul Amrhein for coordinating with the Sacred Heart Center, and to the parish staff for getting the word out through emails, social media and the website.
Thank you again, everyone! If you have ideas that would make these food drives even more successful, let us know!
We hope to coordinate the next food drive for Commonwealth Catholic Charities.
