This is an option only for those who have already prepared one or more children for
the sacraments of Penance and First Holy Communion and are looking for something to engage
the entire family. (click here for description)
Children’s Component

  • Regular participation in Religious Education at either a Catholic school or parish
  • Materials that the children complete at home with help from parents and/or older
  • siblings. (This can help older siblings review materials and provides an opportunity to
  • engage them in passing along the faith)
  • For Penance: 
    • 2 hours of catechesis in their regularly meeting religion classroom (either in school or in the parish)
  • For Holy Communion:
    • 3 hours of catechesis in their regularly meeting religion classroom (either in
    • school and in the parish)
    • Practice for First Holy Communion

Adult Component

  •  Information about the sacraments will be presented digitally in short segments if you wish to increase your understanding of these sacraments, however, these are not required

Family Component

  •  Attend one 4-hour whole family event for First Penance
  •  Attend one 4-hour whole family event for First Holy Communion
  •  Attend Mass at least weekly
  •  Attend parish penance services at least once per year
  •  Participate in one or more of the parish/school outreach efforts
  •  Help children memorize prayers
  •  Pray as a family

  •  First Holy Communion Family Retreat: February 24th 12:30 - 4:30 pm
